Volunteering

Those interested in becoming an official Achilles volunteer guide or support runner complete an application and background check to ensure the safety of the athletes. Achilles volunteers assist adults and children with disabilities to safely complete runs, walks, or rides in a supportive environment, offering motivation, guidance, and assistance using techniques like verbal cues and tethered running. I have been a volunteer for Achilles for a few months now, and it is such a gratifying experience to share the joy of running and walking with individuals who cannot do so on their own. Furthermore, at Achilles, I am part of a strong community that makes a positive difference in people's lives.
